God’s Plan of Salvation

Tabernacle explains God’s plan of salvation. A type of Temple, which is a type of the kingdom age temple.

It was the mission of Jesus at his first coming to open the way for the giving of immortality. Sin brought death, only righteousness would bring life. Jesus was perfectly righteous in himself and through his sacrifice provided a way whereby others could be forgiven their sins and accounted righteous in the sight of God. He became ‘the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.’ (John 1.29) Because of his faithfulness Paul could say The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord’; (Romans 6.23) or again ‘As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive’. (1 Corinthians 15.22) All are ‘in Adam’ inasmuch as they are the natural descendants of Adam and must therefore die. Not all are ‘in Christ’, but only those who have ‘put on’ Christ by baptism after believing the gospel. (Galatians 3.27) The scriptures do not preach universal salvation: ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life’. (John 3.16)

Thus the plan of salvation will be fulfilled in those (and only those) who hear, believe and obey the commandments of God—’for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him’. (Hebrews 11.6) Hear, then, the invitation of Jesus, the saviour, ‘the firstborn from the dead’: ‘Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out’; (John 6.37) ‘He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved’. (Mark 16.16).
